Jim, Leslie, and 5 yr-old son Braden
******************************
Jim: A primary focus and hobby for me for the past five years has been the creation of cohousing, particularly ours. I'm a native Seattleite, and after graduating from Shorecrest High, I went off to Harvard, where I majored in Physics, and particularly enjoyed my classes in art history. During my senior year, four of my classmates and I conspired to climb Mt. McKinley, which we summitted the following summer. I think the preparations and climb provided me with some good experience for the interpersonal and strategic aspects of creating cohousing. These days I work at the University of Washington in the Depatment of Bioenineering, where I study the metabolism of heart muscle. I enjoy skiing, cross-country frisbee and partner dancing. SCH team: Facilities.
Leslie: I currently work in internal communications at Microsoft and am pursuing an MBA in "Sustainable Business" at the Bainbridge Graduate Institute. I got my BA degree in Communication Studies at UCLA and a Certificate in Visual Communication at UW Extension. I love graphic design and am a past volunteer designer for the BALLE (Business Alliance for the Local Living Economy), Sustainable Seattle, and Fremont Time newsletters and promotional material. I designed the Seattle Cohousing public web site. For fun, I "scrapbook" way into the night after Braden is in bed. I have done the Seattle-to-Portland bicycle ride three times and have been to most of Seattle's operas since 1989.
Braden: I'm in Kindergarten and I really like to roller blade with my dad. But mostly, I like to play army and draw volcanos. My favorite thing on vacation was going rock hunting for crystals with my mom and great grandma in Nevada.

I moved into Jackson Place Cohousing in September 2002, and my grandson Ezra was born here in October! I relocated to Seattle after retiring from 20 years of librarianship in my native Pennsylvania, at an academic/special library. I'm happy to be part of the Kitchen Team, and to help to cook two or three of the twenty common meals every four-week cycle. Outside of cohousing, I'm learning about the Quaker meetings in Seattle, and looking for a volunteer job at a nearby non-profit.
